Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The RCIA, or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process of conversion - a life-changing experience, whereby the unbaptized, or, those baptized in another faith tradition encounter God with the possibility of becoming full members of the Catholic Church. It is a journey of faith within a small group setting that provides an overview of Church teaching but also welcomes the Inquirer into the community of faith. Inquirers normally choose a Sponsor - a baptized Catholic- who witnesses to the Catholic faith and accompanies them on their journey. RCIA normally meets weekly and finds its culmination in the Celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist the Easter Vigil. However, depending on one’s background and readiness, a shortened period of formation may be appropriate. Contact Sister Pat Sylvester at the Parish Office  for more information. 440.238.1770
