Prayer Shawls or lap blankets are made by members of our Prayer Shawls ministry. They may be knitted, crocheted, or quilted. They come in a variety of shapes, colors, and patterns and they are all beautiful. The person making the prayer shawl prays for the person who will eventually receive it.
We hand out prayer shawls at Masses where the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is celebrated. Recently, we gave out about 20 prayer shawls. Some went to people who came to the Mass, some went to individuals who were not able to attend, and some were taken to Altenheim. As a result, many more prayer shawls are needed. If you are already part of this ministry, thank you for your work and please continue.
If you would like to join this ministry, we need you. Marty Zachlin has quite a supply of yarn which has been donated for prayer shawls. If you would like to help, call or email Marty 440-238-2376 or email@example.com for more information. The prayer shawl group will meet on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 pm in the Abba Room. Please come if you are interested.
